Drag your thoughts away from your troubles...by the ears, by the heels, or any other way you can manage it.” - Mark Twain

Is folk music still a thing?

It sure is, and it's made a strong comeback (at least in my house)! I cut my folk artist teeth in the 1970s on my father's vinyl collection- literally. At a young age, I sank my teeth and ears into iconic artists such as Paul Simon, James Taylor, Joan Baez and the Kingston Trio. All of these artists- and countless others since- have all helped shape my identity as a songwriter. The exciting thing about folk music is how it reflects life through the lens of the artist's eyes. Ideally, that reflection passes directly to the heart by way of the ears.
